We’re so pleased you’ve come to the website to see more about our taster sessions in April 2024.
Croquet is part of the family of precision sports, alongside snooker, darts, or bowls, and is played both socially and competitively. There are two
internationally-recognised codes: Association Croquet and Golf Croquet, both of which are played at the club.
The game does not require strength, stamina, or speed and is a game of precision, accuracy and strategy. Once you try it, you'll never look back. Croquet is ideal for both men and women
and the introductory course we would run provides a fantastic opportunty to play this delightful outdoor sport.
WHEN
We are hosting four mornings on Tuesday, 9th and 16th April and on Saturday, 13th and 20th. Please arriave by 9.45 am for a 10 am start and the session will finish around 12 noon. This is a great opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game and have real practical experience in learning how to play.
All equipment is provided, with coaching by senior members of the Club; flat shoes or trainers are the only requirement. As our weather is not predictable, always good to wear layers and have a waterproof jacket to hand.
We suggest participants attend at least two of the four sessions – this can be done by signing up at course@enfieldcroquet.org. Our friendly session moderator will respond to any queries you may have and finalise details with you.
After the course has finished you will be offered membership until the end of May at a special one-off fee of £25 so you can see if you enjoy it enough to join as a full member. If so, this cost will be deducted from the annual fee (currently £160) which commences 1st April to 31st March.
SESSIONS
You will soon be practising the basic shots needed to play and control the croquet balls. Even on your first session, you will take part in a team of doubles in a full game of golf croquet and we hope you will be able to appreciate and enjoy the strategy and fun of the competitive game.
